Once upon time a time a new worker from a foreign country came to work at Skeggjastaðir over a summer season. He was meant to accommodate in The Old Farmhouse. Around this period no one else was sleeping there. He did not really feel comfortable sleeping alone in this big house. Therefore he asked if he could have the farm dog to accompany him and stay with him through the night. It was more than welcome. The morning after he and the dog, a Labrador named Voffi, came out of the house and the day´s work was carried on. In the evening he was asked if he would like to have the dog with him again. No he said: “No need. The Old Farmhouse is just fine, there is a good spirit, no supernatural creatures as ghosts crawling around. I am fine on my own”.
